Server Side ASP Caching
(Available starting with v2.0)

Increasing the web site performance and reducing the load on the database servers without a redesign of the entire system is one of the most commonly requested tasks for developers and IT management these days. What if the database takes too many hits from the web server? There is also the fact that about 95% of most e-commerce web sites' content is dynamic and most of the system bottle-necks can usually be found inside the database servers. We are glad to offer a solution where almost any website could increase its performance without total redesign, rewriting any applications or hardware upgrades.

PipeBoost™ has built-in configurable page smart caching support which allows a server to transparently cache static content in compressed state and not to do the same work again and again. Our company decided to take full advantage of this functionality and extend it to the next level. Now with little changes to the ASP code we can cache dynamically generated web pages right on the server and manage cache expiration in a way you want without purchasing of expensive reverse proxies, SSL Accelerators or expensive hardware. It takes fewer servers to run your website and does not require rewriting applications or purchasing additional bandwidth.

We can give you a simple example of server cache implementation to understand the superiority of our solution:

Server Caching Implementation Scenario
The http://www.planet-source-code.com website is one of the largest source code repositories for the VB/ASP developers. This website receives 25-37 new source code submissions every day and the searches against the code submission database constitute the majority of the database activity. It takes considerable amount of time to retrieve the data under a heavy website load.

Implementation: Enable ASP caching for the search.asp page and set the page expiration to 24 hours. Insert a reference to the cache state management include into the first line of the search.asp page for verification of the cache status. Insert a cache expiration command into the source code submission page. Implementation time - less than 2 minutes

Result: All
repetitive searches will be served directly from the PipeBoost Cache in compressed form, avoiding additional database round trips and increasing the website capacity and responsiveness. Serving the data in compressed form also results in huge bandwidth savings, and with caching, most of the users get immediate search results.

PipeBoost™ Server Side Caching could be used in a wide variety of ways. Busy websites with rapidly changing dynamic content, for example, could also reduce the load on their systems by caching the pages for 1 minute, even if only to prevent the repetitive requests from putting unnecessary load on the servers.

As a result, the websites gain increased capacity and responsiveness at nearly no cost. Our company is also offering consulting services to the customers who are looking for ways to improve their website performance and to improve user browsing experience.
